The host of TVO’s The Agenda Steve Paikin, the moderator of last night’s federal leaders debate talks to Joseph Planta about the debate, its format, Martin Short, and more.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver at TheCommentary.ca.

Last night, the four federal leaders whose parties are represented in the House of Commons met in a national broadcast for a debate. Its moderator, Steve Paikin joins me now. This was his third time moderating, first doing so in 2006 and again in 2008. After each debate, he’s graciously come on here to tell us about the debate, what it was like in the room, and more.

Steve Paikin is the host of TVO’s The Agenda. He’s the author of four books, including The Dark Side, one of my favourite books ever. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Steve Paikin; Good morning, Mr. Paikin.
