The artist and owner of the Gallery George Niina Chebry discusses this year’s ParkerArtSalon, how people can view and bid on the art of over sixty artists who work out of the Parker Street Studios, and more, with Joseph Planta.

One of the things a lot of us have learned over the last year and a bit, living through pandemic times, is the necessity of art in one’s life. One of this town’s beloved gatherings, the ParkerArtSalon is returning a little differently but always with the focus on the artists and art itself, online, at the Pendulum Gallery downtown, and the Gallery George on George Street, and of course the Parker Street Studios next door. Joining me now is Niina Chebry owner of the Gallery George, and the tireless organiser of the ParkerArtSalon. She’ll tell us how it’ll work. So there’s the online auction on the Waddington’s website. The work of artists will be available for viewing across Canada, and available for bidding starting Monday, 03 May 2021. Partial proceeds will benefit the Beedie Luminaries Foundation and their scholarships. At the Pendulum Gallery, starting Monday and running until May 28th, an exhibition will be on display there, as well as two different curations at the Gallery George, one from Thursday, May 6th to May 16th, as well as May 20th to the 30th. They’ll be showcasing the works of more than sixty artists who work out of the Parker Street Studios. All these places will be adhering to strict COVID protocols, so there’ll be physical distancing and mask wearing.
