Ha Jin won the National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award for his internationally bestselling novel, Waiting. His previous book, War Trash was also a PEN/Faulkner Award winner. He joins me from here in Vancouver to talk about his new novel, A Free Life. It is a highly readable and critically acclaimed novel of a Chinese immigrant’s struggle to pursue the American Dream.
