Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at TheCommentary.ca.

Eve Lazarus joins me again. The noted historian has new book out, and it’s terrific, Vancouver Exposed: Searching for the City’s Hidden History. It’s engrossing, and endless with all its fascinating stories and unforgettable characters. There are also a great number of archival, and never before published photographs that add so much to the colour of the city, our memory of it, and understanding of it, even if some of the aspects discussed in the book are of a city gone. Eve’s skill at uncovering a good story and telling a captivating tale are throughout this book. Her previous books include Cold Case Vancouver, Murder by Milkshake, Blood, Sweat, and Fear, At Home with History, Sensational Vancouver, Sensational Victoria, and a lot of articles for magazines and newspapers, not mention hundreds of Every Place Has a Story blog posts in between. Visit www.evelazarus.com for more information. Eve is also the host of the podcast, Cold Case Canada. It’s a great show. This new book is published by Arsenal Pulp Press. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Eve Lazarus; Ms. Lazarus, good morning.
