Katherine Ashenburg
I am Planta: On the Line. This is THECOMMENTARY.CA.
The Dirt on Clean: An Unsanitized History by Katherine Ashenburg is a new book about our ever-changing mores when it comes to how clean we actually are. Going back in history, the author looks back to the habits of the Romans and the aristocratic French, as well as looks at our habits now in our somewhat over-sanitized world. Katherine Ashenburg is the author of the critically acclaimed The Mourner’s Dance, and Going to Town. She is a regular contributor to the New York Times and Toronto Life. She joins me now to talk about The Dirt on Clean. Published by Knopf, the book retails for $35.00. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Katherine Ashenburg; Good morning, Ms. Ashenburg.
