Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at TheCommentary.ca.

Lucky Budd joins me again. He and his long-time collaborator Roy Henry Vickers have recently published Voices from the Skeena: An Illustrated History. It’s another fine book from the duo that have published bestselling and critically acclaimed books, including the Northwest Coast Legends Series. This book takes the remarkable Imbert Orchard transcripts of the oral histories he recorded of British Columbians. Recordings of these histories can be found at Lucky’s website www.memoriestomemoirs.ca. In the book you’ll find extracts of these invaluable transcripts, and remarkable illustrations by Mr. Vickers. They’re marvelous works of art. Robert Budd is also the author of Voices of British Columbia, and Echoes of British Columbia, which won the second prize in the BC Historical Foundation’s writing competition in 2014. He lives in Victoria, where he joined me from a couple of weeks ago. This book is from Harbour Publishing. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Lucky Budd; Mr. Budd, good morning.
