Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at TheCommentary.ca.

Miscellaneous Productions has been described as a hip hop theatre boot camp for youth. Five youth ranging from ages 14-21 work with theatre and artistic professionals to stage an interdisciplinary production. The 2018/2019 piece AWAY with HOME is on 27 and 28 September 2019 at the Faris Family Studio Theatre at the Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie Street). Elaine Carol, the show’s director and dramaturg joins me again. We discuss the production and the company. The youth writers/performers are Zefanya Hardhian, Lennox Johnston-Yu, Lucy Luo, Kevin Nguyen, and Arjun Panesar. I talk to Elaine about the themes tackled in the show like mental health, the idea of home, and more. Visit www.brownpapertickets.com for tickets to either performance. And visit www.miscellaneousproductions.ca for more. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Elaine Carol; Ms. Carol, good morning.
