I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.
Tim Hague joins me now. He and Tim Jr. were contestants on the first season of The Amazing Race Canada. They won. And not only is that experience recounted in his recent book Perseverance: The Seven Skills You Need to Survive, Thrive, and Accomplish More than You Ever Imagined, but his remarkable life. He was an unwanted mixed-race baby in 1960s Texas, and he ends up moving to Canada, where he has a great career as a nurse. Soon he’s diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and the challenges that are foisted on his family life, his career, and on a reality competition program are all in this book and instructive. The philosophy at the heart of this book are these seven elements so that one could live their best life. The book is published by Viking. Visit www.timsr.ca. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Tim Hague; Mr. Hague, good morning.
