The reporter Brent Richter discusses municipal elections on the North Shore (the City and District of North Vancouver and West Vancouver), affordability and transportation in the region, as well as his role as a reporter for the North Shore News, with Joseph Planta.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

We continue looking at the region in light of upcoming municipal elections this Saturday, 20 October 2018 with Brent Richter of the North Shore News. We’ll talk about his beat as a full-time reporter. A lot of us have come to rely on his reporting in the paper and online on Twitter. He covers city councils, crime and everything else that happens in the two North Vancouvers, West Vancouver, and the other parts north of Burrard Inlet. Affordability seems to be on a lot of people’s minds, as is transportation infrastructure. I’ll ask Mr. Richter about these issues and others that people on the North Shore are considering as they vote. Brent Richter is a graduate of Langara College’s journalism department. The Twitter handle is @BrentRichter. The website is www.nsnews.com. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Brent Richter; Mr. Richter, good morning.
