I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Sam Shelstad joins me now. The writer recently published a short story collection, his first, Cop House. I’ll ask Mr. Shelstad about his writing, the characters therein, as well as the themes in his stories. Sam Shelstad’s stories have appeared in The New Quarterly, Joyland, PRISM international, Carousel, The Puritan, The Feathertale Review, The Dalhousie Review, and The Rusty Toque. In 2014, he was longlisted for the CBC Short Story Prize, and a runner up for the Thomas Morton Memorial Prize. He is a contributor to McSweeney’s Internet Tendency.
