Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Sam Wiebe joins me again. He recently published the second novel in his Wakeland series, Cut You Down. Dave Wakeland, the Vancouver based private investigator is back. He’s tasked with finding a student Tabitha Sorensen, a troubled student who has vanished. Along the way, Mr. Wiebe takes us through the suburban gang life, and corrupt authorities that Dave encounters in his work. Through it all, Sam gives us a view of Vancouver and its environs. It’s a rich setting, and full of fascinating characters. I’ll get Sam to tell us as much as he’d like about this book, this series, and his work as a writer and teacher. Sam Wiebe’s debut novel Last of the Independents won the Arthur Ellis Award, and the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize. He was last on the show when the critically acclaimed Invisible Dead debuted the Dave Wakeland series, two years ago. His website is at www.samwiebe.com, and his Twitter handle is @sam_wiebe. The book is published by Random House. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program Sam Wiebe; Mr. Wiebe, good morning.
