Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Daemon Fairless has written one of the more anticipated books of the year. Mad Blood Stirring: The Inner Lives of Violent Men looks at the violence inside men. There are men that he talks to that have committed terrifying violence, rape, murder, as well the violent tendencies the author has experienced. The book opens with Mr. Fairless narrating an incident on a subway, where he was standing up to a bully who was threatening his wife and other passengers. He head butts the fellow, and so begins this book that looks at his upbringing and the feelings that he contends with. This book is particularly timely in the era of the #MeToo movement. Daemon Fairless is a writer and journalist. He has a degree in neuroscience, and has worked as a producer for the CBC Radio program As It Happens. The book is published by Random House. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Daemon Fairless; Mr. Fairless, good morning.
