The artistic director of Ruby Slippers Theatre Diane Brown discusses their latest production, one that she’s directing, I Lost My Husband translated by Leanna Brodie from the Catherine Léger play J’ai perdu mon marie, at the Gateway Theatre, 15-24 March 2018, with Joseph Planta.

Diane Brown joins me again. The artistic director of Ruby Slippers Theatre is the director of the new production of I Lost My Husband, which is an English language translation of the Catherine Léger comedy J’ai perdu mon mari by Leanna Brodie. In the show Evelyn loses her husband in a bar bet. I’ll get Diane to tell us about the situation Evelyn finds herself and how her life evolves over the course of the show. The show stars Meghan Gardiner, Agnes Tong, Curtis Tweedie, and Raugi Yu. The show is described as a work that salutes female independence and emancipation. Diane Brown is an award-winning director and actor, and in her time as artistic director of Ruby Slippers Theatre, she has commissioned many English language translations of the best in contemporary French Canadian plays. She’s appeared on this program in the past as a director, as well as an actor. I Lost My Husband is at the Gateway Theatre beginning 15 March 2018, running until the 24th.
