Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:
I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.
The Midtwenties Theatre Society and Red Gate Arts Society are back with a new production, a world premiere, Above the Hospital. It’s written and directed by Beau Han Bridge who joins me again. He’s written a play that’s set in the present, where two Vancouver millennials come to terms with living in Vancouver, coming from elsewhere, wanting career fulfillment, and the social isolation that’s bred in this town, and that affects people their age acutely. The show opens this Saturday, 13 January 2018, with a preview this Friday night. It’s on until 21 January 2018 at the Red Gate Revue Stage at Granville Island, 1601 Johnston Street. www.mtstheatre.com is the website for tickets and more information. Beau Han Bridge is an actor, filmmaker, director, and the founder of Midtwenties Theatre Society. He was last on the program when their production of Lonergan’s This is Our Youth was staged here in Vancouver in July. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line Program, Beau Han Bridge; Mr. Bridge, good morning.
