Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:
I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.
Colouring books are quite popular nowadays. Adults are doing them. A new book allows one to discover bucolic British Columbia. Colour the British Columbia Coast is the book from the artist, illustrator, and author Yvonne Maximchuk. She joins me now. I’ll ask her about this book and the original illustrations she’s done—there are forty in the book. I’ll get Yvonne to give us some tips for colourists too. Yvonne Maximchuk is the author of Drawn to Sea, and co-author with Bill Proctor of Full Moon Flood Tide, and Tide Rips and Back Eddies. She lives in Echo Bay, British Columbia, where she joins me from today. The website for more is at www.yvonnemaximchuk.com. The book is from Harbour Publishing. There are two upcoming events: Tuesday, 12 July 2016 at the White Rock Branch of the Fraser Valley Regional Library, 1.00 to 3.00pm. And Wednesday 13 July 2016 at the Oakridge Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, 10.30am to noon. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Yvonne Maximchuk; Ms. Maximchuk, good morning.
