Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

The folks that brought you The Duchess a.k.a. Wallis Simpson are back at The Cultch shortly with a production of You Will Remember Me. The Francois Archambault play has been translated and will hit the boards 17-28 November 2015 directed by Diane Brown. The show is toplined by Kevin McNulty and Patti Allen, favourites in the theatrical community in this part of the world, as well as well-known for the appearances in film and on television. The aging patriarch of a modern family suffers from dementia, and his loved ones struggle to care for him. Various themes emerge in the show, aging, family, love, as well as political history in Quebec. Joining me now is Kevin McNulty. I’ll get him to tell us about this show, his role, and these themes, that he’s pondering some days before the show begins its run. Kevin McNulty is the acclaimed actor, who is a graduate of Studio 58 at Langara College, as well as the recipient of many awards, including for life achievement. You might recognise Mr. McNulty from various appearances on television programs such as Arctic Air, Robson Arms, and many others. Name the locally shot series, and it’s likely he’s had a part. The website for more is at www.thecultch.com. You can get tickets and information there. Ruby Slippers Theatre produces this show. Kevin McNulty joins me in the midst of rehearsals for this show, about ten days before it opens. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Kevin McNulty; Mr. McNulty, good morning.
