Lauren Weedman

I am Planta: On the Line. This is THECOMMENTARY.CA.

I am joined now by Lauren Weedman. She’s written a new book called A Woman Trapped in a Woman’s Body: Stories from a Life of Cringe. The Los Angeles Times has said of the book: “Relentlessly candid introspection combined with a ferocious wit,” — and that it is. The book consists of essays about her life thus far, including a fascinating chapter on her hiring and departure from The Daily Show which she joined as a correspondent in 2001. She appears regularly on Comedy Central, on programs like Reno 911, and I saw her not too long ago on Talk Show with Spike Ferestein. And folks here in the Vancouver area might have remembered her on KING’s Almost Live. The book retails for $20.95 and is published by Sasquatch Books. I am pleased to welcome Lauren Weedman to the Planta: On the Line program; Good morning, Ms. Weedman.
