Lois Anderson

The actress and director Lois Anderson discusses the latest production from Leaky Heaven Circus [1], To Wear a Heart So White, with Joseph Planta.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Beginning Tuesday, 25 March until next Sunday, 30 March 2014 is the latest show from Leaky Heaven Circus, To Wear a Heart So White. It is described as ‘a mix of Shakespeare, landmarks, taxidermy animals, projections, music, Coquitlam’s parade, processions, and kids.’ I’ll go on: ‘Macbeth, an English tragedy of power territory and betrayal in Scotland staged by a predominately White cast on the unceded territory of three Coast Salish Nations.’ And if that doesn’t tell us enough about the show, I’m joined now by one of its stars, Lois Anderson, who’ll help us fill in the rest. The accomplished actor and director helped devise this show, and I’ll ask her about Leaky Heaven Circus and more. Lois Anderson is a graduate of UBC and has worked with numerous regional and independent theatre companies. She co-founded Cirque Poule, and was a leading player at Bard on the Beach for six seasons. Visit www.leakyheaven.ca [1] for tickets and more information. The show is at the Russian Hall at 600 Campbell. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Lois Anderson; Ms. Anderson, good morning.
