The Academy Awards are Sunday night, 02 March 2014, and as we move closer to the biggest awards night of the year, a look now at the films nominated, the films not nominated, and what to expect on Oscar night with two writers from the Georgia Straight. Adrian Mack is the movies editor at the Georgia Straight, as well writes on various subjects including music and fascist death cults. Craig Takeuchi is a staff writer at the Straight, and was its movies editor from 2004 to 2011. We’ll talk about the films that are locks to win, what categories are competitive, as well as what we might see Sunday night with host Ellen DeGeneres.
