The actor and writer Feidlim Cannon discusses his new show, Have I No Mouth, which comes from Dublin and plays Vancouver’s PuSh Festival (30 January-01 February 2014), his mother who’s his co-star, and the emotions that they recount on stage nightly, with Joseph Planta.

There’s a remarkable show that will be playing in Vancouver shortly as part of the PuSh Festival. It’s called Have I No Mouth from the Brokentalkers Company in Dublin, Ireland. In the show, a son and a mother, along with a psychotherapist, work out their past, their loss, their love for each other and others. It plays at the Waterfront Theatre on Granville Island 30 January to 01 February 2014. It got great notices in Ireland and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won an award. Joining me now from New York is the son in the show, Feidlim Cannon. He was in New York a week or so ago, staging the show at the COIL Festival there. He conceived the show and directs, with his mother Ann Cannon playing herself, and Erich Keller, who’s the therapist. I’ll ask Mr. Cannon about this show, its inspiration, and what we can expect at the end of the month.
