Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Chris Turner joins me again. He’s got a new book out: The War on Science: Muzzled Scientists and Wilful Blindness in Stephen Harper’s Canada. It’s a strident indictment of the Conservative government’s attack on science, its scientists and environmental regulations in this country. I’ll get Mr. Turner to tell us about this book, and the reaction had to it thus far. He ran as the Green Party candidate in the Calgary Centre by-election last year, and I’ll ask him about that experience too. The journalist Chris Turner has been on before with previous books, the critically acclaimed and well-selling The Geography of Hope and The Leap. He also wrote a bestselling book on The Simpsons, Planet Simpson. His writing has appeared in sundry publications in Canada and beyond. The website for more is at www.canadaswaronscience.com [2]. The book is published by Greystone. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, in Calgary today, Chris Turner; Mr. Turner, good morning.
