Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Linwood Barclay joins me again. He’s just published A Tap on the Window, his twelfth thriller and already a bestseller. The book is narrated by Cal Weaver, a private investigator, and opens two months after the tragic death of his son. He’s trying to figure out what caused his death, which was drug-related. In the opening scene of the book, at a stoplight, a young girl knocks on his car window and asks for a lift. It all begins there. I’ll get Mr. Barclay to tell us about this book. I started the book, and was finding it highly addictive before putting it down to chat with its author. The book continues from this ill-fated pick up of a hitchhiker, who also happens to know Weaver’s dead son, and he’s drawn into a nightmare. Linwood Barclay is an internationally bestselling author. His previous books have sold millions of copies and have been optioned for adaptations. He is a former columnist for the Toronto Star. His website is at www.linwoodbarclay.com [2]. He joins me in late August from here in Vancouver in the midst of a book tour across Canada to promote this book, which is published by Doubleday. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Linwood Barclay; Mr. Barclay, good morning.
