Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver at TheCommentary.ca.

Let’s spend the next few minutes learning about a fascinating war hero, one whose life heretofore was scarcely mentioned. The new book from the historian Sam McBride is entitled The Bravest Canadian: Fritz Peters, VC: The Making of a Hero of Two World Wars. Mr. McBride joins me from Trail, British Columbia today to talk about his ancestor and how he came to write about Peters, who remarkably served in both World Wars, and who was well-decorated for his efforts. The book is published by Granville Island Publishing. Visit www.thebravestcanadian.wordpress.com for more information. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Sam McBride; Mr. McBride, good morning.
