This is the final program of the season, if you will, before I head off for my summer hiatus. It’s a great treat having my guests on now. I’m joined by Shane Birley and Monica Hamburg. They are the very entertaining hosts of a great podcast, The S&M Rants. No, it’s not that kind of show. The two of them get together and report and ridicule complete idiots in the news. The obscure stories they find reported on the internet are mind boggling, in that the people therein are morons and/or oddball enough. The more moronic and the more oddball, they could qualify for being called a ‘fucktard.’ We’ll get Ms. Hamburg and Mr. Birley to define that term of endearment. The show may be not safe for work, but it’s entertaining stuff. I’ve laughed out loud listening to these two. Shane Birley is a technologist, who’s co-authored Blogging for Dummies. He helped to found Left Right Minds, a web development and arts management company here in Vancouver. He’s also involved with the theatre review, Plank Magazine. Monica Hamburg is a social media evangelist, and was named one of Vancouver’s Social Media Innovators by BC Business magazine. She consults various businesses on their social media strategy.
