Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver at TheCommentary.ca.

Chris Guillebeau joins me now. He is a writer, entrepreneur, and traveller. He’s written a new book The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future. He joins me now to tell us about the book. He’s in his early 30s, and he’s already been in something like 175 countries. He doesn’t have a conventional job, a ‘real job’ if you will, or has earned a regular paycheck. He has however turned ideas into income, and it’s supported his adventurous lifestyle. In this book he finds others like him. These are people who’ve found what they like doing, taken their passion for doing it, and pursued what they find meaningful, without having to raise a great deal of seed money. You learn in this book to start small, a hundred dollars or less, and in some of the cases written about, find it could yield $50,000 or more. The book is more than that though, it’s about self-fulfillment. www.chrisguillebeau.com [2] is the website for more. His previous book was The Art of Non Conformity. This book is published by Crown Business. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Chris Guillebeau; Mr. Guillebeau, good morning.
