Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver at TheCommentary.ca.

Shari Graydon joins me now. The award-winning women’s advocate and bestselling author has just edited a new collection: I Feel Great About My Hands: And Other Unexpected Joys of Aging. It’s a fun collection of essays, poems and stories by forty-one women who talk about growing older. Hitting the age of 50 is often considered going downhill the mountain of life, but the pieces herein prove otherwise. They’re often informative, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, and always interesting. Even the close-to-30 male, who now welcomes Ms. Graydon to this program, found some wisdom in the pieces here. Some of the people who contribute include former guests to this program, Lorna Crozier and Lyndsay Green, political figures Elizabeth May and Sharon Carstairs, journalists Susan Delacourt and Frances Bula, as well as other well known figures like Mary Walsh and Susan Musgrave. The website for more is at www.sharigraydon.com [2]. The book is published by Douglas & McIntyre. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Shari Graydon; Good morning, Ms. Graydon.
