Don Davies

The fourth in a series of interviews meeting those running in Vancouver Kingsway features Don Davies, the incumbent MP and the New Democratic Party’s candidate; Joseph Planta asks him about the issues, the local campaign, the NDP’s success in recent national polls, and more.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver at TheCommentary.ca.

Over the last several days we’ve been talking to the candidates running for office in the federal election, specifically in the riding I live in, Vancouver Kingsway. The person running for re-election, the incumbent Don Davies joins me now. He is the New Democratic Party candidate.

Prior to winning the 2008 election, Don Davies, a lawyer, was the director of legal resources for Teamsters Canada (local 31). He has the distinction of being one of the top 5 members of Parliament who have spoken the most words in the House, and who’ve introduced the most private members bills. He is his party’s critic for Public Safety and National Security, Multiculturalism, and Western Economic Diversification. The website for more is at http://www.dondavies.ndp.ca [1]. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Don Davies; Good morning, Mr. Davies.
