The Vancouver Courier columnist, longtime broadcaster and journalist Allen Garr talks to Joseph Planta about the state of Vancouver politics, the recent Olympics, beekeeping, and his run for a seat on the Vancity board.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line. This is THECOMMENTARY.CA.

Allen Garr joins me now. He is a columnist for the Vancouver Courier, appearing Fridays. He is a long time journalist, working at CBC, Co-op Radio, and CKNW, where I first heard him growing up filling in for Rafe Mair. He is also a beekeeper here in Vancouver, at his home and at various places in the city including the new convention centre, Science World, and at VanDusen Gardens. He is also running for a seat on Vancity’s board of directors. We’ll discuss all that and more. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Allen Garr; Good morning, Mr. Garr.
