This is the Planta: On the Line program, at THECOMMENTARY.CA. I am Anjan Chaklader sitting in for Joseph Planta. He is the hockey insider. For more than 30 years Bob McKenzie has been one of most prominent faces, voices and authors in the Canadian sports media industry. Whether it his appearances on the Sports Network, numerous sports radio shows, work on the Hockey News or blogs, Mr McKenzie’s volume of work has him considered one of the most influential figures in the National Hockey League. He has recently authored his first book, titled Hockey Dad which chronicals the trials and tribulations, ups and downs of his two sons as they progressed through the Ontario minor hockey system. This deeply personal book also self-examines, sometimes in a critical light, the author’s own involvement in his son’s minor hockey years.
