There's a terribly practical new book that's out now, that makes for interesting reading, even though I found I had no immediate use for it at the moment. I'm sure, there'll be people listening however, who just might find it useful and even necessary. The book is called Our Turn to Parent: Shared Experiences and Practical Advice on Caring for Aging Parents in Canada. We've talked to a number of authors over the years, who've recounted their own personal stories about caring for their loved ones. This isn't a memoir, rather a valuable guide, and one that's needed as there probably isn't a book like this out there. Barbara Dunn and Linda Scott wrote the book after having to care for their elderly parents. There are many tips and examples worth noting, as well as a province-by-province listing of programs, agencies, websites and other useful resources. If you're caring for parents now, or might have to in the future-statistics show that this sandwich gap is expanding what with boomers getting older and the sort-this is a highly recommended book. Linda Scott joins me now, she works as a marketing and advertising director. She was caregiver to her mother. The book is published by Random House.
