Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:
I am Planta: On the Line. This is THECOMMENTARY.CA.
Rafe Mair joins me now. The legendary broadcaster and writer has a new book out, What the Bleep Is Going On Here? It's another collection of essays on current events and more. From the environment; to lawyers; the Vancouver Club; to ghosts he's encountered; to George W. Bush; and provincial politics, he offers his take on all that. He received the Bruce Hutchison Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003, and in 2005 was inducted into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He also writes a weekly column for The Tyee. I've long been a fan of Mair on air and now in print. This is a collection of editorials and commentary not to be missed. Its foreword is written by Gordon Gibson. Published by Harbour, the book retails for $24.95. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Rafe Mair; Good morning, Mr. Mair.
