There's an interesting new book out from Harbour Publishing called River Queen: The Amazing Story of Tugboat Titan Lucille Johnstone. It is an amazing story by Paul Levy, who knew Johnstone and who chronicles her life from being an unskilled girl Friday at a three-boat operation in the 1940s, which in the 1980s she was CEO and president of what became a giant in the marine transportation industry in British Columbia, Rivtow.
She was a legend in British Columbia, a driving force behind Expo 86, as well as many other organisations like the Vancouver International Airport, and St. John's Ambulance.
Paul Levy is associate counsel at the New Westminster law firm of McQuarrie Hunter, where he was a partner for many years. He is the author of River Queen, which retails for $34.95. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Paul Levy; Good morning, Mr. Levy.
