He is considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, player to have ever played the game of hockey. He was also revolutionary in how hockey was played, and how the sport was regarded. He won two Stanley Cup championships in his short ten-year career, as well as many other awards including the Norris (eight times), the Hart (three), and the Conn Smythe trophy, twice. And very often it's considered that after Bobby Orr, hockey was no only a mere sport, but also a high-stakes big business.

Stephen Brunt, one of the premier sports columnists and commentators in the country, is a columnist for the Globe and Mail, and is the author of a new book, Searching For Bobby Orr, $34.95 published by Knopf. His previous books included biographies on Shawn O'Sullivan and Roberto Alomar, and his critically acclaimed and bestselling, Facing Ali.
