Bill Millerd, the Artistic Managing Director of the Arts Club Theatre, and the director of their latest, Miss Saigon, talked with Joseph Planta about the production and what theatregoers can expect when the musical opens beginning Thursday, 19 May, as well the renaming of the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage, where Miss Saigon will bow.

It's a pleasure to visit once again with the Arts Club's Bill Millerd. He's been the Artistic Managing Director of the Arts Club Theatre Company since 1972. He's a member of the Order of Canada, recipient of countless awards and accolades, and the director of the Arts Club's latest, a production of the musical Miss Saigon.

By Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil, and Richard Maltby Jr., Miss Saigon tells the story of an American soldier played in this production by Jonathan Winsby, who has an affair with a Vietnamese girl named Kim, played by Nena Lazo. The backdrop to all of this is the end of the war in Vietnam, and along for the saga is Spirit of the West's John Mann, who stars as The Engineer. Miss Saigon begins in previews this Thursday, 19 May and will run until July 10th at the newly minted Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage.
