Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at TheCommentary.ca.

The award-winning poet Rob Taylor joins me now. He has just published a new collection of poetry, Strangers. We’ll discuss it, the themes therein, and how he writes. The book has poems that consider grief, death, love, memory, pests, the outdoors, and more. I’ll ask Rob about his poetry, and the vast archive of interviews he’s done, interviewing other poets and artists, which can be found on his website www.roblucastaylor.com. Rob Taylor’s previous poetry collections include Oh Not So Great: Poems from the Depression Project, The News, and The Other Side of Ourselves. He edited What the Poets Are Doing: Canadian Poets in Conversation. He teaches creative writing online at Simon Fraser University, and joined me from Port Moody, British Columbia, late last week. This new book is published by Biblioasis. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Rob Taylor; Mr. Taylor, good morning.
