I am Planta: On the Line. This is THECOMMENTARY.CA.

Author, journalist, and screenwriter Todd Babiak joins me to talk about his new novel The Book of Stanley. Published by McClelland and Stewart, the book retails for $32.99. It tells the tale of Stanley Moss, a retired florist in Edmonton who experiences a boom, a flash and an amazing transformation. His cancer is in remission and he can fulfill people’s dreams, read their minds, and equal the strength of ten other men. It is a humorous book filled with satire and fantasy from one of the country’s foremost satirists. His last novel, The Garneau Block was longlisted for the Giller Prize. His first novel, Choke Hold was a finalist for the Writers Trust Fiction Prize. He is also a columnist for the Edmonton Journal; and http://www.toddbabiak.com [2] is his website. I am pleased to welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Todd Babiak; Good morning, Mr. Babiak.
