Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Colin Mochrie joins me now. He’ll be in town starting tomorrow night for events with Vancouver TheatreSports, of which he is a distinguished alumnus. We’ll talk about his years of association with VTSL, his years in Vancouver, and how comedy and improv has enriched his life and career. Beginning Thursday, 24 May 2018 at 7.30pm, Mr. Mochrie will be at the Improv Centre on Granville Island, doing two improv sets with members of the VTSL ensemble, followed by a Q&A, where audience members ask questions. Friday night there’ll be two shows at the Vogue Theatre as the Colin Mochrie Experience is on at 7.30pm and 9.45pm. He’ll take the stage with VTSL players. Saturday night at 7.30pm and 9.30pm, Colin and Friends returns to the Improv Centre with some very special guests. It’s always a fun experience down at the Improv Centre. All performances will benefit the Colin Mochrie Scholarship Fund at the VTSL’s theatre school, The Improv Comedy Institute. Colin Mochrie is a cast member of the CW’s Whose Line is it Anyway? He was a regular on the original British incarnation, and the American version hosted by Drew Carey on ABC. He is the only cast member to have appeared in every series. He was a cast member of This Hour Has 22 Minutes from 2001 to 2003, and with his wife Debra McGrath produced, wrote and starred in Getting Along Famously. He has been nominated for five Canadian Comedy Awards, winning two, as well as Gemini Award, and a Writers Guild of Canada Award. We’ll reflect on his remarkable career and more.
