Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

A couple of years ago, my guest now Bob Joseph wrote a blog post that went viral that’s now the basis of a new book, 21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act: Helping Canadians Make Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples a Reality. It talks about the repercussions that the Indian Act has had on generations of Indigenous Peoples. This book comes at a right time in the reconciliation process, and I’ll get Mr. Joseph to tell us about his book, his work advising government and business organisations on cultural sensitivity, and where Canada is headed in the future. Bob Joseph is the founder of Indigenous Corporate Training Inc., and a member of the Gwawaenuk Nation. Since 1994, he’s provided training on Indigenous and Aboriginal relations, advising all levels of government in Canada, Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, and Indigenous peoples. This new book is published by Indigenous Relations Press. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Bob Joseph; Mr. Joseph, good morning.
