Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Evany Rosen joins me now. The comedian has just published a marvelous collection, What I Think Happened: An Underresearched History of the Western World. It has so many laugh-out-loud moments, and it’s a terrific introduction to various aspects of history by a self-described ‘failed academic.’ Too much of history isn’t written considering the feminist perspective, and this book rectifies that. With scathing, hilarious, and often remarkable insight, Ms. Rosen recasts our understanding of the monarchy, Napoleon, American presidents, and all the other things we’re told are important but really don’t know much about. The book is the inaugural publication of the new Robin’s Egg imprint at Arsenal Pulp Press, books curated and edited by our friend Charlie Demers. There is an event this Saturday, 04 November 2017 at Little Mountain Gallery. That’s at 8.00pm. Evany, Charlie and a slew of local talents will be performing, and you’ll be able to buy this book and meet its author. It’s a terrific achievement. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Evany Rosen; Ms. Rosen, good morning.
