Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

George Froehlich joins me again. He recently launched a new podcast called Cool Conversations that he hosts with Caroline MacGillivray. The conversations they have with people in and around Vancouver are about their work, current affairs or anything else that is interesting and important. George deploys his skill as a journalist and his interest in cultivating good conversations in this new show. He and Ms. MacGillivray complement one another well, each bringing unique perspectives. I was recently a guest on there [2]. George Froehlich was a print journalist for more than twenty years, working at the Vancouver Sun as a reporter and later an editor of several departments. He spent many years in television, working at the CBC and later Global Television, heading up their sports and news operations in Western Canada. For many years, George was the manager over at channel 13 on 2nd and Columbia here in Vancouver, CKVU, or UTV as it was once known. He also worked in television in Chile, Ireland and the United States, and he’s written for many publications including Business Week, Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, and The Economist. www.coolconversations.co [1] is the website for more. You can listen to the shows there. George also edits a daily newsletter that you can subscribe to on their website. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, George Froehlich; Mr. Froehlich, good morning.
