A new novel puts George W. Bush on trial for war crimes in Iraq. The cost of war, and the run up to the Iraq invasion in 2003 is taken a critical look at in The Trial of Prisoner 043. Its author, the screenwriter, playwright, and producer Terry Jastrow joins me now. Mr. Jastrow has not only written a compelling and gripping book, but he looks at the case for going into Iraq then, and the case against Bush. We talk about the research he’s done as to international law, and the International Criminal Court that would try such an individual. We talk about the run up to the war and the consequences. Terry’s done a great job in taking characters we know like the former president Bush 43, and creating his own compelling cadre of characters like the prosecution and defence teams. Terry Jastrow began his career as a producer with ABC Sports, producing and directing many of their live broadcasts like a Super Bowl, six Olympic Games, and sixty major golf championships. He worked with Howard Cosell, and Terry graciously indulges me with a story involving Cosell at the wedding ceremony when Terry married the actress Anne Archer.
