Anna Hagan

Opening tonight, 23 June 2017 for five performances only is Western Gold Theatre’s [1] production of Neil Simon’s Rumors. Its director Anna Hagan talks to Joseph Planta about the show, Western Gold, and Neil Simon’s work.

Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Western Gold Theatre is bringing Rumors, the Neil Simon play to Vancouver for the first time. At the PAL Studio Theatre, 23-25 June 2017, the production is part of Western Gold’s Studio Series, with a set by Glenn MacDonald, and direction from Anna Hagan. The cast includes nine talents that are recognised as some of the better performers in this town: Camille Mitchell, Bob Frazer, Melissa Oei, Jerry Wasserman, Colleen Winton, Keith Martin Gordey, Paul Batten, Dave Campbell, and Annabel Kershaw. Rumors is witty in that inimitable Neil Simon way, it’s got zany characters, and that human element that Simon’s work evokes, even in farce. Anna Hagan is the artistic director of Western Gold Theatre. I’ll ask her about directing this production, the work that Western Gold does, and more. Tickets can be had at http://rumors.brownpapertickets.com [2] or calling the box office at 604 363 5734. Visit www.westerngoldtheatre.org [1] for more. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Anna Hagan; Ms. Hagan, good morning.
