Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Brian Wood joins me now. The literary agent has just published a new book, Weekend Getaway at Generic Hotel. It’s a collection of prose and poetry, written with the observant and heartfelt eye that was evident in his first book Winter Walk, which he was on this program with in 2014. This new collection features pieces on history, faith, and love. There are pieces that reference Richard Nixon, religion, California, restlessness and death. I’ll get Mr. Wood to tell us about the works in this collection, writing, poetry, and the world around him. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Brian Wood has worked for Chapters Indigo as a local buyer. He began representing authors in 2006 and has since sold over 50 non-fiction titles. The website for more is www.brianjwood.com. This new book is published by Sakura. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, in person today, Brian Wood; Mr. Wood, good morning.
