Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Lee Mackenzie is the author of a new book, The Charming Predator: The True Story of How I Fell in Love and Married a Sociopathic Fraud. In the book she talks about falling for and marrying a man, Kenner Jones, who she would later find out he was a confidence trickster, someone who had a long criminal record. I’ll get Ms. Mackenzie who joins me now to tell us about this part of her life, the sadness, shame and doubt that she felt, but that she overcame. How she did, and how she wrote this book. For 21 years, Lee Mackenzie was a broadcast journalist and news anchor. I remember her from her days at CHEK in Victoria. She worked across Canada for CBC Television, as well as CBC Radio in London, England. She’s since left journalism and works in the Powell River RCMP detachment. She is also an artist. This new book is published by Doubleday. The website for more is at www.thecharmingpredator.com [2]. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, in Powell River, BC, Lee MacKenzie; Ms. Mackenzie, good morning.
