Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Adrian Raeside joins me again. The popular editorial cartoonist, and creator of The Other Coast comic strip has just published a new collection, Tails Don’t Lie 2: A Pack of Dog Cartoons. Like most of his books, this one will be a bestseller. It features the insights Mr. Raeside has about dogs, about these four-legged creatures that tell us so much about people. I’ll ask Adrian about what makes dogs such compelling characters, and just what dogs may think about us. Adrian Raeside’s Tails Don’t Lie: A Decade of Dog Cartoons was published in 2013, the year before that he published No Sailing Waits and Other Ferry Tales. He was last on three years ago for The Best of Adrian Raeside, a collection of his political cartoons. Perhaps we’ll touch on politics too. The book is from Harbour Publishing. The Other Coast is syndicated in over two hundred newspapers and magazines around the world. His tenure as the editorial cartoonist at the Victoria Times Colonist ended in 2015. He had started at the paper in 1979. The website for more is www.raesidecartoon.com. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, in Whistler, BC today, Adrian Raeside; Mr. Raeside, good morning.
