Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Tim Carlson joins me now. He’s on to discuss Theatre Conspiracy’s upcoming production of Foreign Radical. The critically acclaimed show was one of the city’s most lauded productions in 2015. In it, thirty participants are invited into a theatrical game that explores security, profiling, freedom of expression, and privacy in the age of cyber surveillance. The participants collaborate, investigate, debate and spy on each other. I’ll get Mr. Carlson who conceived of the show to tell us more. The show runs 06-11 February 2017 at Studio 1398 on Granville Island. Visit www.conspiracy.ca [1] for tickets and information. Tim Carlson is a playwright, dramaturge, journalist, and artistic producer of Theatre Conspiracy. From 2009 to 2016, he was co-curator of Club PuSh with the Push International Performing Arts Festival. Among his plays include the prize-winning Extraction. Other credits include Stray, Best Before, 100% Vancouver, Omniscience, Secret Service International, and Victim Impact. His degrees were had from King’s College, Halifax and the University of British Columbia. This interview was conducted in mid-January, nearly three weeks before the show opens. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, Tim Carlson; Mr. Carlson, good morning.
