Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

A charming, informative, compelling read is the new book from the author John A. Cherrington. He’s written Walking to Camelot: A Pilgrimage through the Heart of Rural England. He joins me now, and I’ll get him to tell us about the journey that he and his pal Karl undertake in Britain, where they go, what they eat, see and do. It’s a great read, because throughout the book you get a sense of the area they walk, and the history that surrounds them. They walk the Macmillan Way. There’s great literary inspiration around, as Mr. Cherrington evokes references to the various legends, stories and books of this place. John Cherrington is the author of three previous books, including Vancouver at Dawn, which was shortlisted for the City of Vancouver Book Award. He is an avid hiker, and a retired lawyer who divides his time between the Fraser Valley and Pender Island. This new book is published by Figure 1. Please welcome to the Planta: On the Line program, John Cherrington; Mr. Cherrington, good morning.
