Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

Rick Antonson joins me again. He’s got a fantastic new book out Full Moon Over Noah’s Ark: An Odyssey to Mount Ararat and Beyond. Like his previous books To Timbuktu for a Haircut and Route 66 Still Kicks, he takes the reader along for a journey to the historic, mysterious and mythical mountain. In what is now known as Turkey, Ararat is considered by some to be the resting place of Noah’s Ark. It’s a source of conflict among the Armenians and Turks who each claim the mountain. And along the way as Rick and his friends get to the mountain, he travels through Iraq and Iran, and it’s quite exciting. The book is getting good notices and it’s a fine achievement. Rick Antonson is the former president and CEO of Tourism Vancouver, and past chair of the Destination Marketing Association International. He lives both here in Vancouver and in Cairns, Australia. He was last on in December 2015 with his brother Brian Antonson, when their book, written with Mary Trainer, Whistle Posts West was published. That book was a huge hit, selling thousands of copies. The website for more is at www.rickantonson.com. This new book is published by Skyhorse Publishing. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Rick Antonson; Mr. Antonson, good morning.
