Text of introduction by Joseph Planta:

I am Planta: On the Line, in Vancouver, at TheCommentary.ca.

The bestselling author Linwood Barclay joins me again. His newest book, Far From True has just been published, and is the second thriller in the Promise Falls trilogy set in the town of the same name. I’ll get Mr. Barclay to tell us about the private investigator Cal Weaver and the sorted world he uncovers after four of the townspeople are killed when the local drive-in theatre’s screen collapses on them. I’ll ask Mr. Barclay about Promise Falls, and the two murders the detective Barry Duckworth is trying to solve. Linwood Barclay’s books have sold millions of copies. Broken Promise was the first book in the trilogy, and there was a novella, Final Assignment. He was previously on this program for his books, Fear the Worst, and A Tap on the Window. He is a former columnist for the Toronto Star, and his books have been critically acclaimed, and a couple of them at least have been optioned. His website is at www.linwoodbarclay.com. He was in town last week for appearances at the first Cuffed, International Crime Writing Festival. Far From True is published Doubleday. Please welcome back to the Planta: On the Line program, Linwood Barclay; Mr. Barclay, good morning.
