Robin Eder-Warren and Adam Da Ros

As the Mariposa Theatre Wing launches, the soprano and managing director of Opera Mariposa Robin Eder-Warren, and musician and director Adam Da Ros discuss their upcoming production of Terrence McNally’s Master Class, working in the arts in Vancouver, and more, with Joseph Planta.

In its fourth season, Opera Mariposa, a local opera company is launching the Mariposa Theatre Wing. It will be presenting plays and musicals with operatic elements, and they’re getting it all started with a production of Terrence McNally’s Master Class. Joining me now are Robin Eder-Warren and Adam Da Ros. He is the director of the Master Class production, while she will be one of its performers. She is also the managing director and a co-founder of Opera Mariposa. The production is on 19-28 February 2016, weekends with three performances, Friday and Saturday evenings, and a matinee on the Sundays. It’ll be at the Marpole United Church at 1296 West 67th Avenue here in Vancouver. That’s also where their charity benefit production, People Like Us will be held Saturday, 14 May 2016. She has had a number of credits including A Little Night Music, Little Women, Oklahoma!, Candide, and Follies. She is a voice and yoga instructor and a recipient of a Metropolitan Opera Encouragement Award. Adam Da Ros is a Vancouver-based director and musician originally from Dawson Creek, BC. He has directed several community productions including Fame, Rent, A Chorus Line, and Singin’ in the Rain. He’s also the music director of an upcoming Fighting Chance Production of Cats.
